How it works
Study the theory at home. Short recorded lessons you complete at your own pace before we meet.
Come and practise in person. Teacher-led sessions in Bali for the practice, the seeing and the teaching — the parts a screen cannot give you.
Take it further, if you want to. Complete all four modules for the full 200-Hour Foundation — teaching practice and practicum included, in person with Ocha.
What's included
-
Around 50 hours: self-paced theory you complete at home, plus in-person, teacher-led practice with Ocha in Bali
-
Frameworks for Yoga Nidra, meditation and mindful breathing

Guided practice in facilitation, live with Ocha

Supervised teaching practice and feedback, in person with Ocha — the practicum is built into the module, not a separate course

Course description
Guiding a meditation or a yoga nidra looks like doing very little. It is one of the harder things to do well: your voice, your pacing and your steadiness are the whole practice.
What you will learn to teach
To facilitate Yoga Nidra, meditation, and mindful breathing — and the mindful use of self-hypnosis language for deep relaxation. You will learn how to build a script, how to pace it, how to use your voice, and how to stay grounded enough that a room can let go into you. This is the module about the inner practices and the skill of holding them.
How the hybrid format works
The theory you study at your own pace, before we meet — short recorded lessons you can pause and rewind. The practice, the seeing and the teaching happen in person with me, here in Bali, because those cannot be learned from a screen alone. You arrive to the live sessions already prepared, so our time together is spent on the parts that actually need a teacher in the room.
Where it fits
This is one of four modules in our 200-Hour Yoga Foundation. It owns the meditation and pranayama work, and a good deal of the teaching methodology a foundation needs — facilitating, pacing, holding a room. Take it standalone or stack all four.
Who teaches it
I am Oka Pastini, a Balinese yoga teacher born and raised in a village in Bali. I have been teaching since 2019 — across Bali, throughout the Indonesian archipelago, and in Europe — and more than 5,000 people have practised with me. I hold a 500-hour Hatha Yoga certification along with 100-hour trainings in Aerial and Yin Yoga, and deepened my practice in Rishikesh, India.
An honest note
You will read that thirty minutes of yoga nidra equals four hours of sleep. It does not, and I will not teach it that way. These practices are genuinely restorative and genuinely useful — and they do not need inflated claims to be worth learning to guide.
By the end you will be able to:
- Guide a full Yoga Nidra with a clear structure
- Lead a meditation or breathing practice for a group
- Use pacing, silence and tone deliberately
- Recognise when to bring a room gently back
This is for you if:
- You are drawn to the inner, quieter practices
- You want to run rest, meditation or nidra sessions
- You already teach and want to add facilitation to your range
Every module has two parts. First, the self-paced online part you complete at home, at your own pace — recorded theory, anatomy and technique breakdowns. Then the in-person, teacher-led part here in Bali: the practice, the seeing and the teaching, which cannot be learned from a screen.
You arrive already prepared, so your time on the mat with me is spent practising and teaching — not sitting through lectures you could have watched at home.
Each module stands on its own, and gives YACEP continuing-education hours if you are already a registered teacher.
Stacked together, the four modules make up a 200-Hour Foundation — with the teaching practice and practicum woven right through them, in person with Ocha, so there is nothing separate to add. Turning that foundation into an initial teaching certification (Yoga Alliance RYT-200) will be available once Bali Yoga House completes its Yoga Alliance RYS registration — we will tell you the moment it is live.
