How it works
50 minutes, one to one, live on Zoom from Bali, booked around your time zone. I watch how you actually sit and move, and we shape the practice around your day rather than an ideal one.
5 short lessons, about 20 minutes in total. Why stillness stiffens you. What posture actually means (and what it does not). Which sensations are useful and which are a warning. How to set up a desk that stops fighting you.
8 gentle practice videos, 10 to 30 minutes each, in a simple four-week path. Nothing strenuous, nothing you need to be flexible for.

Course content
Part 1: Your private session with Ocha
50 minutes, one to one, live on Zoom from Bali, booked around your time zone. I watch how you actually sit and move, and we shape the practice around your day rather than an ideal one.
Part 2: The theory
5 short lessons, about 20 minutes in total. Why stillness stiffens you. What posture actually means (and what it does not). Which sensations are useful and which are a warning. How to set up a desk that stops fighting you.
Part 3: The practice, week by week
8 gentle practice videos, 10 to 30 minutes each, in a simple four-week path. Nothing strenuous, nothing you need to be flexible for.
Week 1: Breathe, and unclench
Finding the holding before you try to fix it. Jaw, throat, shoulders, breath.
Week 2: Move your neck, gently
Small, safe range for a stiff neck. Slow, supported, nothing forced.
Week 3: The mid-back
Where the real work is. Building the support your shoulders have been going without.
Week 4: Your desk and your day
Short resets you can do at work, plus a longer evening practice to undo the day.
Course description
Your shoulders are somewhere up near your ears right now.
You just noticed, didn't you? And they dropped about two centimetres. They will be back up within the minute — that is rather the problem.
What changes
Necks rarely hurt because they are weak. They hurt because they have been holding still, braced, for hours — in front of a screen, over a phone, gripping a steering wheel. The muscles that were meant to move end up standing guard instead, and the mid-back that was supposed to be carrying you quietly checks out.
So over four weeks we do three things. We give the neck and upper back small, safe movement, because stillness is what stiffened them. We build the mid-back, so your shoulders have somewhere to rest that is not your ears. And we unclench the parts you did not know were clenched — jaw, throat, the space between the shoulder blades.
Ten to twenty minutes. You can do most of it in the clothes you are already wearing.
Hi, I'm Ocha
I'm a Balinese yoga teacher, born and raised in a village in Bali. I've been teaching since 2019 — here on the island, across the Indonesian archipelago, and in Europe. Somewhere past 5,000 people have practised with me by now.
I teach the way I'd want to be taught: slowly, without pressure, and without pretending that a yoga pose fixes everything.
Why I chose to help with necks and shoulders
Because it is the most common thing people mention to me, and the one they most often accept as normal. They say it like the weather: "oh, my shoulders are always like this."
They are not supposed to be always like this. That is worth saying out loud.
Can I promise to fix your neck?
No. And be wary of anyone who does.
Please see a doctor first if you have pain travelling down your arm, numbness or tingling in your hand, weakness gripping things, or headaches that are new, severe or different from your usual. Those need looking at properly, and yoga is not the answer to them.
For the ordinary, grinding, desk-shaped kind of neck and shoulder tension — the kind that comes back every Wednesday — this practice gives you something to do about it, and the reasons behind it.
This is the part no app and no video can give you: 50 minutes, one to one, live with me on Zoom from Bali, at a time that works in your time zone.
We talk about where you actually are — not where a course assumes you are — and then we practise together, so you can feel it rather than read about it.
You leave with a practice shaped around your life, and you can ask the things you would never ask in a group class.
This is for you if you recognise yourself here:
- I sit at a screen most of the day
- My shoulders creep up and I only notice when they ache
- I get tension headaches by the afternoon
- I am not flexible and I do not want a workout
- I want to understand why, not just be told what to do
This is probably not for you if:
- You want a strong, sweaty practice
- You want a guaranteed cure
- You have pain down your arm, numbness, tingling, hand weakness, or new or severe headaches — please see a doctor first. That needs proper medical care.
20 places this round. That is not a countdown clock and it is not a marketing trick.
Every place includes a private hour with me, live on Zoom. There are only so many of those in a week, and I would rather do them properly than squeeze people in.
When these are gone the next round opens at a higher price. The private session is the expensive part, and I have kept it deliberately low while the course is new.
Very little. A chair and a quiet corner, and:
- A block, or a firm cushion
- A blanket, or a folded towel
- Optional: a strap, or a dressing-gown belt
Much of this happens seated. You can do a good part of it at your desk.
"I am not flexible at all."
Good. This is about moving safely, not about reaching further.
"Can I do this at work?"
Yes. Week 4 is built for exactly that — short resets, no mat, no changing clothes.
"How long until it helps?"
Some people feel the shoulders drop the first evening. Lasting change usually takes a few weeks, because we are undoing a habit, not a single bad day.
"What if I miss a week?"
Nothing breaks. The plan is a suggestion, not a test, and you have three months of access.
